PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily fix a guard member while suppressing penetration of liquid into a mechanism attachment space and without exposing a screw member to the rear.SOLUTION: A reel unit 2 is a reel unit 2 of a spinning reel 100 which is attachable to a fishing rod and which delivers a fishing line forward. The reel unit 2 includes: a chassis 2a having an opening 2c a lid member 2b a through portion 25 a guard member 26 and a screw member 27. The lid member 2b is fixed to the chassis 2a so as to close the opening 2c, whereby a mechanism attachment space 2d can be formed between it and the chassis 2a. The through portion 25 has a through-hole 25a longitudinally extending through the mechanism attachment space 2d, and is liquid-tightly sealed to the mechanism attachment space 2d. The guard member 26 has a boss portion 26a insertable to the through portion 25 from the rear, and covers the chassis 2a and the rear portion of the lid member 2b.
