The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for the controlled inhalation of the aerosols obtained from liquid solutions and/or solid products, for treating certain diseases, especially pulmonary diseases. According to the invention, the apparatus comprises n glass recipients (1) for liquid substances, which have attached, each, a piezoelectric atomizer (6) actuated by means of a driver (7), m heat-resistant glass recipients (2) for solid substances which are heated with m resistors (8) supplied by thermo-regulating circuits (9) for controlling the vaporizing temperature, a ventilator (4) the speed of which is controlled by a speed regulator (5) performing the control of the volume of air filtered by a filter (3) which is introduced into the vaporizing chamber (13) provided with a separating wall (14) and allows the vapours gathered in a common combination area to be entrained and directed towards the vaporizer output, towards a flexible hose and to be administered through an inhalation mask, where the control of the driver circuits (7) of the piezoelectric atomizers, of the voltages controlling the thermo-regulating circuits (9) determining the vaporization rate for the solid substances, of the control voltage of the speed regulator (5) of the ventilator (4), the selection of the liquid and solid substances, the validation or inhibition signals, the operation time of each driver element (7) are performed by a control unit (10) with data received from a manual control desk (16) or taken over by means of a serial communication interface (15) from an external unit (17) on which a program specific to the apparatus runs.
