PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyaxial bone anchoring device that is improved considering handleability and use diversity of the device.SOLUTION: A receiving part 5 includes: an upper member 8 that has a head receiving part and a channel 86 for receiving a rod at an upper end 81 and a lower member 10 that has an upper end, a bottom end and a passage extending from the upper end to the bottom end. The lower member 10 is connectable to the upper member 8 from the bottom end 82 of the upper member 8, and at least one clamp member 20 is arranged at or near the bottom end 82 of the upper member 8.
