SOLUTION: Presence or absence of blockage in a fluid replacement passage 6 in a hemodialyzer 1 is detected. Control means C executes a first operation for operating a dialysate pump 27 at a preset flow rate when a supply chamber 21a is filled with dialysate to obtain total discharge time until the dialysate in the supply chamber runs out. The control means then executes a second operation for operating a fluid replacement pump 19 to discharge a part of the dialysate supplied to fill the supply chamber to a blood circuit 3, and continuously executes a third operation for operating the dialysate pump 27 to obtain remaining discharge time until residual dialysate remaining in the supply chamber runs out. At this time, if the remaining discharge time matches the total discharge time, then it can be determined by the second operation that the dialysate supplied to fill the supply chamber is not discharged to the blood circuit at all, and hence it can be determined by a fourth operation that the fluid replacement passage 6 is blocked.EFFECT: Presence or absence of blockage in the fluid replacement passage 6 can be detected with no special configuration added.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【解決手段】 血液透析装置１に用いられる補液通路６の閉塞の有無を検出する。制御手段Ｃは、供給室２１ａ内に透析液を充満させた状態で、透析液ポンプ２７を所定の設定流量で作動して上記供給室内の透析液がなくなるまでの全量排出時間を得る第１動作を実行する。次に、第２動作により補液ポンプ１９を作動して、上記供給室内に充満された透析液の一部を血液回路３に排出し、引き続き第３動作により、透析液ポンプ２７により供給室内に残存した残存透析液がなくなるまでの残量排出時間を取得する。この時、上記残量排出時間と全量排出時間とが一致した場合には第２動作によって供給室内に充満された透析液が全く血液回路に排出されていなかったと判断できるので、第４動作により上記補液通路６が閉塞していると判定することができる。【効果】 格別の構成を追加することなく、補液通路６の閉塞の有無を検出することができる。【選択図】 図１
