The present invention relates to the solid state of 6-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-2- phenylquinazoline (I) and therefore to novel crystalline forms of the base and of pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, and also to methods for preparing them, to the respective pharmaceutical formulations and to their therapeutic use. Compound (I) may be obtained as the free base in five different crystalline forms, three polymorphic forms and two hydrates. Some pharmaceutically acceptable salts of (I) that have physicochemical characteristics acceptable for pharmaceutical development were obtained, and the respective polymorphic forms and/or hydrates were characterized.La presente invención también se refiere al estado sólido de 6- (1H-imidazol-1-il)-2-fenilquinazolina (I) y por lo tanto a novedosas formas cristalinas de la base y de sales y solvatos farmacéuticamente aceptables de los mismos, y también a métodos para prepararlos, a las respectivas formulaciones farmacéuticas y a su uso terapéutico； el compuesto (I) se puede obtener como la base libre de diferentes formas cristalinas, tres formas folimórficas y dos hidratos； se obtuvieron algunas sales farmacéuticamente aceptables de (I) que tienen características fisicoquímicas aceptables para el desarrollo farmacéutico, fueron caracterizadas las respectivas formas polimórficas y/o hidratos.
