PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent which is excellent in a liquid absorbing speed and flexibility, and to provide an absorbent article with the absorbent.
SOLUTION: The absorbent is formed of crimped short fibers 122 other than pulp fibers, the main constituents of the short fibers 122 are a web 12 not fused with each other and particles 13 contained in the web 12, and at least one core layer practically not including fibers other than the short fibers 122 is provided. The absorbent article is provided with the absorbent.
