The disclosure is directed at an antimicrobial material which is a mixture of a polymer and an antimicrobial metal whereby the antimicrobial metal comprises 50% to 90% by weight of the antimicrobial material. The disclosure is also directed to a method of preparing the antimicrobial material as well as the use of the antimicrobial material in manufacturing products such as medical products and baby products. The antimicrobial material can also be moulded into arms for chairs, hospital bed supports, keyboards, faucets, toilet sets, door knobs or hospital bed arms.La présente invention porte sur un matériau antimicrobien qui est un mélange dun polymère et dun métal antimicrobien, le métal antimicrobien représentant de 50 % à 90 % en poids du matériau antimicrobien. Linvention concerne aussi un procédé de préparation du matériau antimicrobien ainsi que lutilisation du matériau antimicrobien pour fabriquer des produits tels que des produits médicaux et des produits pour bébé. Le matériau antimicrobien peut également être moulé en forme de bras de fauteuils, de supports de lits dhôpitaux, de claviers,de robinets, de sièges de toilettes, de poignées de porte ou de bras de lits dhôpitaux.
