PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft drink of wine flavor, which has an excellent aftertaste of fruit fragrance after swallowing a fruit fragrance (fruity fragrance), a method for producing the soft drink, a flavoring containing a large amount of 3-mercapto hexanol (3MH) and S-3-(hexane-1-ol)-L-cysteine (3MH-S-Cys) being its precursor and a method for producing the flavoring.SOLUTION: The fermentation liquid is obtained by subjecting an aqueous solution containing a passion fruit juice to lactobacillus fermentation and removing the lactobacillus after the fermentation, has at least a content of 3MH-S-Cys higher than that of passion fruit juice and is useful as a food flavoring. The method for producing the fermentation liquid is provided. The soft drink is an aqueous solution that is prepared by mixing the fermentation liquid obtained by the production method with at least one or more of water, a sugar-containing liquid and an acidulant and contains 100-1,500 nM of 3MH-S-Cys and 10-135 nM of total of one or both of 3MH and 3-mercapto hexyl acetate (3MHA). The method for producing the soft drink is provided.
