PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accessibly store measured results without using a novel protocol specialized in communication of measured values.SOLUTION: An image management apparatus receives, from an ultrasonograph, image data with measured values acquired by measuring a medical image, embedded in the medical image, and displays the medical image with the measured values embedded therein (a step S6). When a doctor designates an area subjected to character recognition on a displayed medical image (a step S7), the image management apparatus acquires the measured values from the designated area in the image data of the medical image, by the character recognition (a step S8). Next, the image management apparatus corrects the character recognition result as the need arises (steps S9-S11).
