PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid agent for a contact lens that is excellent in fitting to disinfecting effect (sterilizing effect) and contact lens and can be used adequately for disinfecting, receiving, rinsing or the like for the contact lens.SOLUTION: The liquid agent for a contact lens comprises a solution containing hexamethylene biguanide derivative represented by general formula (I) (X and Y show groups represented by formula (II) and formula (III) respectively in the formula and n shows number from 1 to 100), hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, a metal ion sealant, a phosphate buffer, and an isotonic agent.
