PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-bearing type reel that can prevent a failure of a side plate being left out of a frame and falling during casting operation, even if inadvertently forgetting the operation of locking the side plate to the frame in an unremovable manner by using an opening/closing mechanism.SOLUTION: A double-bearing type reel of the present invention includes an opening/closing mechanism for making a side plate of the other side plate of an anti-handle side be openable/closable to a frame 7A.
