Disclosed is a medical imaging device which comprises: an X-ray irradiation unit configured to irradiate an object and a calibration phantom which does not overlap the object with X-rays, in accordance with a first irradiation condition for a pre-shot； a detection unit configured to detect the X-rays passing through the object and the calibration phantom； and a control unit configured to obtain calibration information by using a pre-shot image obtained from the detected X-rays, and determine a second irradiation condition for a main-shot by using the calibration information.예비 촬영(pre- shot)을 위한 제1 조사 조건에 따라 대상체 및 대상체와 겹쳐지지 않도록 배치되는 캘리브레이션 팬텀으로 엑스선을 조사하는 엑스선 조사부, 대상체 및 캘리브레이션 팬텀을 투과한 엑스선을 검출하는 검출부 및 검출된 엑스선으로부터 획득한 예비 촬영 영상을 이용하여 캘리브레이션 정보를 획득하고, 캘리브레이션 정보를 이용하여 본 촬영(main-shot)을 위한 제2 조사 조건을 결정하는 제어부를 포함하는 의료 영상 장치가 개시된다.
