The wire delivered through the calcaneal bone is fixed. That is followed by manual reposition to eliminate rotation displacement at the level of the fracture by aligning one interdigital space along a line: an anterior superior iliac spine and an internal edge of a patella. Once the rotation displacements at the level of the fracture are eliminated, the wire delivered through a tibial metaphysis is fixed. Distraction follows until axial interrelations of the tibial and fibular fragments and a uniformity of a joint space of the ankle are restored.
