FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to psychology, physiology and can be used to reduce psychological significance of negative psychoemotional attitudes and memories. Negative graphic images and/or verbal definitions associated with a psycho-traumatic situation are determined and stored in a memory. Further, positive graphic images and/or verbal definitions associated with the constructive solutions of the psycho-traumatic situation are formed and stored in the memory. That is followed by bilateral stimulation with light and/or sound and/or tactile and/or vibration and/or temperature signals with dynamically variable parameters selected according to subjective criteria of their comfort for a person until achieving a state of relaxation determined by physiological indicators. Against the background of continuing bilateral stimulation, the stored negative graphic images and/or verbal definitions are periodically presented on the monitor screen according to a given algorithm with interval of 2 to 10 seconds and exposure of 1 to 4 seconds until stabilizing physiological parameters.
