FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrophobic acrylic materials with high refraction index. Polymeric material for an ophthalmic device is obtained by polymerization of a mixture of monomers, where the mixture contains: a) total 70–90 wt% of cycloaliphatic acrylic monomers of formula (I),(I),where A is H or CH3; B is O, NR or S; D is O, S or absent; E is CH3, CH2CH3, CH(CH3)2, C(CH3)3, CH2OH or H; R is H, CH3, CH2CH3 or CH(CH3)2; x has value of 1–4, provided that if x>;1, then no more than one CHE group contains E, which is not H; y has value 0–2; and z has value of 0–4, provided that if D is absent, then z≠0; b) only 5–25 wt% of hydrophilic monomers selected from a group consisting of: hydroxy(C2-C4alkyl)methacrylates and glycerine methacrylate; c) a copolymerisable cross-linking agent which is a compound with terminal ethylenically unsaturated groups containing more than one unsaturated group; and d) a reactive UV absorber. Material for an ophthalmic device is characterized by a refractive index of 1.46–1.50 and an Abbe number of more than 47.EFFECT: obtaining materials characterized by both a high refraction index and a high Abbe number, low dispersion of refraction index and suitable for use as materials for intraocular lens and other implanted ophthalmic devices, such as keratoprostheses, corneal rings, corneal implants and corneal inserts.19 cl, 4 tbl, 23 exИзобретение имеет отношение к гидрофобным акриловым материалам с высоким показателем преломления.
