[Problem to be Solved]To obtain, in a guide wire including a coil body composed of two connected coils, both workability in the connection of two coils and ease of application of brazing metal into the connecting portion of the coils.[Solution]A first wire 40a of a proximal-end coil 40 is held by or clamped between a third turn 30a and a second turn 30b of a distal-end coil 30 from both sides. A second turn 40b adjacent to the first turn 40a of the proximal-end coil 40 is in contact with a first turn 30c of the distal-end coil 30 from the proximal-end side of the second turn 40b. Moreover, a gap G is provided between the second turn 40b and the second turn 30b of the distal-end coil 30, the second turn 30b being adjacent to the distal-end side of the second turn 40b. With this configuration, even before brazing, the central axes of the two coils can be easily kept aligned with each other and brazing metal or the like can be easily applied into a connecting portion.
