PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce materials to be used and to facilitate the processes in the manufacture of an absorbent article capable of being fitted to a wearer in such a way as to wrap the hips of the wearer.
SOLUTION: A diaper 1E comprises: an absorbent body 2 having a back side region S1, a crotch region S2 and an abdominal side region S3 in the longitudinal direction L from the back side Ba to the abdominal side Fr when the diaper is worn and a pair of left and right side flap parts 10 disposed on both sides in the width direction W of the absorbent body 2. The absorbent body 2 is composed at least of a liquid-permeable top sheet 3, a liquid-impermeable back sheet 4 and an absorber 5 disposed between the top sheet and the back sheet for absorbing and retaining liquid. The diaper 1E has a back side extension region 14 extended around the waist in the back side region S1 of each side flap part 10.
