According to the invention, there is a method for producing an acrylate-basedsolid, comprising the steps of: (i) dispersing less than 20% w/v of an alkylor aryl acrylate polymer/copolymer in a solvent comprising at least oneacrylic monomer； (ii) dispersing in the fluid mixture formed by step (i) afurther quantity of an alkyl or aryl acrylate polymer/copolymer； and (iii)curing the resulting material to form a solid, Wherein the alkyl or arylacrylate polymer/copolymer of step (i) contains less than 0.1 % w/w of a freeradical.
