For patient-specific anatomical and clinical situations, a comprehensive multifunctional instrument platform is provided that can be variably configured by clinical workers to treat complex and complete occlusions. This instrument platform allows physicians of all skill levels to more conveniently, quickly and effectively treat the most difficult and complex lesions / occlusions. Functionally integratable catheter system (“FICS system”) refers to a system of “functional units” that can be configured together to operate synergistically, and (a) a FICS support catheter (110), ( b) includes at least four main “functional units” including a FICS dilator (130), (c) a FICS PTA catheter (140), and (d) a FICS lock grip handle (120).
