PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which can support diagnosis on and imaging of a subject: and to provide an image processing program.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: a detection part a discrimination part and a display control part. The detection part performs a positioning processing for extracting information on an imaging-object portion from the image of a subject and detecting a position of an imaging region on the basis of the extracted information. The discrimination part discriminates whether any malfunction is present or not at the imaging-object portion on the basis of the information on the imaging-object portion extracted in the course of the positioning processing.
