To provide a method for producing a vegetation mat sewable without bending or breaking a needle.
SOLUTION: This method for producing the vegetation mat includes superposing a plastic sheet 4, a nonwoven fabric 6, and paper 2A ON each other followed by sewing them using a needle. The stitches of a yarn 5 are formed along both the right and left ends of the plastic sheet 4. In more details and the method includes evenly arranging seeds 7, fertilizer 8, and water retaining or/and moisturizing agent 9 ON the upper surface 2S in a condition of putting the paper 2A upward and covering the whole surface of the seeds 7, the fertilizer 8, and the water retaining or/and moisturizing agent 9 from above by a base part 2, and sticking the paper 2A and the base part 2 to each other. When sewing the paper 2A and the nonwoven fabric 6 ON the base part 2 by the yarn 5, a needle 5A is free from touching the seeds 7, the fertilizer 8, and the water retaining or/and moisturizing agent 9, and the paper 2A and the nonwoven fabric 6 are continuously sewn ON the base part 2 without bending or breaking the needle 5A.
