The present invention relates to the use of a hydraulic pump (7) in direct engagement with the engine of a carrying vehicle (2), in particular a tractor, to deliver, through a hydraulic circuit of supply (8) and a hydraulic motor (10), a power of at least 160 horses to a device for shredders (1) fixed to one end (30) of an arm (3) of the articulated handle, whose opposite end (31) is secured to said carrying vehicle (2), the said device for shredders (1) being equipped with a rotor (6) provided with stationary hammers (61).
