The present invention relates to emulsions comprising, in percentage by mass relative to the total mass of the composition: (a) 72% to 76% of water； (b) 0.1% to 5% of a gelling agent of the aqueous phase of the emulsion； (c) 0.75% to 2% metronidazole； (d) 5% to 10% mineral oil； (e) 0.5% to 10% of a surfactant； (f) 0.5% to 5% of a fatty acid； (g) 0% to 4% of an absorption promoter for metronidazole (c)； and (h) 0.1% to 5% of a preservative chosen from the group consisting of methylparaben, propylparaben, phenoxyethanol and their mixtures.
