PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetector capable of detecting light of a wavelength band including a wavelength of 1.7 &mum with an inexpensive configuration.SOLUTION: A photodetector includes: an InGaAs-based first photodiode having a cutoff wavelength of near 1.7 &mum an Extended InGaAs-based second photodiode having a cutoff wavelength of 1.8 &mum or higher and a branch part for branching light and inputting the light to the first photodiode and the second photodiode.【課題】波長1.7μmを含む波長帯域の光を安価な構成で検出することができる光検出装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の光検出装置は、カットオフ波長が1.7μm付近にあるInGaAsベースの第1フォトダイオードと、カットオフ波長が1.8μm以上にあるExtended InGaAsベースの第2フォトダイオードと、光を分岐して前記第1フォトダイオードおよび前記第2フォトダイオードに入力させる分岐部と、を備える。【選択図】図3
