The present invention describes a method for the vitrification of human semen, which comprises: providing liquid human semen； providing a vitrification medium, the vitrification medium comprising: (a) a semen buffer medium, and (b) a mixture of cryoprotectors comprising a permeable cryoprotector and a non-permeable cryoprotector； mixing the liquid semen with the vitrification medium； providing a semen straw and loading said straw with 0.25-0.5 mL of the obtained mixture； heat-sealing the straw； and inserting the straw in a vertical position into a receptacle with liquid nitrogen to vitrify the mixture.
