A hopper has a base structure designed for being mounted to anintake of a conveying mechanism for conveying particulates. The base structurehasa semi-cylindrical bottom and an upstanding box shaped structure defining atop rim.A bottom portion of a flexible hopper structure is mounted to the rim of thebasestructure and extends upwardly to a ring of the top portion of the flexiblehopperstructure. An adjusting mechanism is connected to the base structure and thetopstructure. The adjusting mechanism enables moving the top structure from atransport position, with the top structure being disposed in proximity to thebasestructure, to a loading position, with at least a substantial portion of thetop structurebeing disposed at a predetermined distance to the base structure.
