The present invention is directed to a material for skin including a silicone component-containing polymer obtained by polymerizing a silicone monomer having a carbon-carbon double bond, and a component selected from an antibacterial agent and an alcohol. The present invention provides a material for skin, which is transparent and has a moderate moisture content, and also has high oxygen permeability, and a method for producing the same.
