PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion assist device advantageous in narrowing and miniaturization, and allowing various distal end hard parts with different diameters to be firmly fixed.SOLUTION: A clamper 20 and a C-ring 21 are disposed in the inside on the distal end side of a hollow part 18a into which the distal end hard part 3 of an endoscope is inserted. The C-ring 21 is elastically expanded/contracted in the radial direction. The clamper 20 has a male screw 61a formed on the outer peripheral surface to be engaged with a female screw 59 formed on the inner peripheral surface of the hollow part 18a. When the clamper 20 is rotated clockwise, the clamper moves toward the rear end, and an inclined surface 20a provided at the rear end presses an inclined surface 21a provided at the distal end of the C-ring 21. The C-ring 21 thus pressed is contracted, and the distal end hard part 3 is tightened.
