The present invention relates to a novel Salmonella typhimurium strain, and a vaccine composition for preventing infection by Salmonella typhimurium comprising the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a Salmonella typhimurium strain ST26 applied by accession number KCTC13198BP, a vaccine composition for preventing infection by Salmonella typhimurium comprising the same, a method for producing the vaccine composition, and a method for preventing infection by Salmonella typhimurium by injecting the vaccine composition into an individual. The novel Salmonella typhimurium strain of the present invention isolated from poultry is a highly pathogenic strain and shows high safety, immunogenicity and defense ability.
