PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel which ensures the good stopper performance of a reverse rotation-preventing mechanism using a rolling type one-way clutch.SOLUTION: In the fishing reel, the base end portion and handle-mounted portion of a handle shaft are each rotatably supported in one side plate of the reel body through bearings a reverse rotation-preventing mechanism including a rolling type one-way clutch is mounted on the handle shaft and a cylindrical clutch ring with which the rolling member of the reverse rotation-preventing mechanism makes sliding contact, is fitted so as not to be rotated on the outer periphery of the handle shaft while being moved in the axial direction.
