The present invention relates to a device for feeding animals, such as poultry, of the type which is intended to be supplied with feed via a conveyor tube (60) from which it is suspended. It comprises a tray (10, 110), a receptacle (20, 120) the interior of which can, at will, be made to connect with the interior of the said tray (10, 110), means for making the said conveyor tube (60) communicate with the interior of the said receptacle (20, 120), and means for adjusting the height of feed in the said tray (10, 110) when it is in communication with the inside of the said receptacle (20, 120), the said tray (10, 110) then operating in the fashion of a manger.
