A method of alleviating the symptoms of depression, which comprises systematically administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of telenzepine and an antidepressant selected from the group consisting of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and a selective serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), in a therapeutically effective amount to reduce symptoms of depression. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein telenzepine is administered systemically. The method of claim 1, wherein the antidepressant is SSRI. The method of claim 3, wherein the SSRI is selected from the group consisting of citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine and sertraline. The method of claim 4, wherein the SSRI is citalopram or escitalopram. The method of claim 4, wherein the SSRI is paroxetine. The method of claim 1, wherein the antidepressant is SNRI. The method of claim 7, wherein the SNRI is selected from the group consisting of milnacipran, mirtazapine, venlafaxine, duloxetine, desvenlafaxine and sibutramine. The method of claim 8, wherein the SNRI is duloxetine. The method of claim 8, wherein the SNRI is desvenlafaxine.
