A lawn edging comprises an elongate member 2 comprising a first 6 and opposed second 8 ends, a base portion 10 providing a first contact surface 12 for abutting a support surface (e.g. ground) and an opposed upper portion 14 providing a second contact surface 16 for receiving a portion of a lawn covering, e.g. artificial turf. An abutment member 18 extends between the base portion and opposed upper portion and creates an outer abutment surface for abutting a wall or fence, and an inner abutment surface. A channel 24 extends between the base portion, opposed upper portion and the inner abutment surface. There may be spacer portions 30 located between pairs of base flanges 26 and may be pleated to allow the edging to be manipulated into the required shape, e.g. corners or bends in the garden area. In use the upper surface has an adhesive layer and the layer of artificial grass is stuck to it, ground (e.g. dirt/soil) is inserted into the channel 24.
