PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sterilizing a plastic material container avoiding the use of very high acceleration voltage.SOLUTION: The sterilizing method includes a process of introducing a sterilizing apparatus having a charge carrier generation device 12 into the container 10 through an opening 10b of the container 10, and a process of sterilizing an inner wall 10a of the container 10 by making the charge carrier act upon the inner wall 10a. In the sterilizing method, the charge carrier generation device 12 is at least partially introduced into the container 10, to generate the charge carrier inside the container 10.
