PURPOSE: An air bubble sensor is provided to safely sense air bubbles inside a tube using infrared rays.CONSTITUTION: An air bubble sensor comprises an infrared ray emitting unit(2) and an infrared ray receiving unit(3). The infrared ray emitting unit radiates infrared rays. The infrared ray receiving unit senses the infrared rays emitted by the infrared ray emitting unit. The existence or the size of air bubbles(17) inside a tube(6) is sensed. A fluid, which exists in a region where the infrared rays are radiated between the infrared emitting and receiving units, flows in the tube.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013[Reference numerals] (1) Infrared air detection sensor본 발명은 적외선을 이용하는 공기방울센서(1)에 관한 것으로, 고무나 플라스틱 등 적외선의 투과가 가능한 튜브(6)나 관(6) 내에서의 공기방울(17)을 감지할 수 있는 센서 및 그 공기방울(17)의 크기와 길이를 측정하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 의약물, 혈액, 연료 및 기타 다양한 액체(18)를 주입하는 것이 필요한 곳에서 공기방울(17)이 들어가면 되지않는 경우에는 공기방울(17)이 들어가는 것을 감지해서 경고를 하여 알려주거나 또는 주입을 정지하는 것이 필요하다. 본 발명은 이런 경우에 공기방울(17)의 존재여부와 그 크기를 감지하는 적외선 공기방울센서(1) 및 그것을 이용하여 공기방울(17)의 길이를 감지하는 방법에 관한 것이다.
