Transplanting trees together with soil ball round its roots - freezes soil surrounding roots after exposure at sides for full depth before lifting clear
The tree is transferred together with the soil enclosing its roots to the second position. At the first position (1), the earth (5) round the roots (3) is exposed at the sides for the depth to which the roots are expected to extend, and then the soil is at least partly frozen. The frozen soil and the tree are then together lifted clear and transported to the second position, where the tree is planted and the soil thawed out.Pipes (8) for the refrigerant can be inserted in bores (7) in the earth, while others enclose it.After freezing, the soil ball can be detached from the ground at the underside. ADVANTAGE - Gentle tree handling at low cost.
