The present invention relates to a mugwort extract and a method for manufacturing the same. More specifically, the mugwort extract contains a useful ingredient having more antioxidant effects than an existing mugwort extract. Therefore, the mugwort extract has excellent ability to reduce active oxygen in a body. The mugwort extract includes a mugwort polysaccharide extract with an immunity enhancement function. Consequently, the mugwort extract can provide effects of autoxidation and immunity enhancement. Moreover, the mugwort extract is obtained without change and destruction of a polyphenol-based compound or a flavonoid-based compound which are included in the mugwort extract. Therefore, the mugwort extract is obtained at an increased yield and the antioxidant effect of the mugwort extract is minimized. Furtheremore, the present invention relates to: the mugwort extract which can be used to promote development of food materials and cosmetic materials by using the mugwort extract containing the useful ingredients of autoxidation and immunity enhancement as active ingredients； and a method for manufacturing the same mugwort extract.본 발명은 쑥 추출물 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 종래의 쑥 추출물 보다 항산화 효과를 가지는 유용성분을 다량 함유하여 체내의 활성산소를 환원시키는 능력이 뛰어나며 면역강화 기능이 있는 쑥 다당류 추출물을 포함하여 항산화 및 면역강화 효과를 동시에 얻을 수 있는 쑥 추출물이다. 또한, 쑥 추출물에 포함된 폴리페놀계 화합물이나 플라보노이드계 화합물이 변형, 파괴됨이 없이 추출됨으로써 향상된 수득률을 가지고, 항산화 효과의 감소를 최소화한 쑥 추출물이다. 나아가 항산화 또는 면역강화 유용성분이 포함된 쑥 추출물을 식품, 화장품 등의 유효성분으로 이용함으로써 식품 및 화장품 소재 개발을 확대할 수 있는 쑥 추출물 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
