ANTIBODIES AND ANTIGEN-BINDING FRAGMENTS THEREOF THAT BIND TO A SCLEROSTIN POLYPEPTIDE, COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME AND METHODS FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
The invention relates to an antibody, or antigen-binding fragment thereof, that binds specifically to a sclerostin polypeptide. The antibody or antigen-binding fragment is useful for increasing bone mineral content and/or bone mineral density in a warm-blooded animal or human, for example in the treatment of conditions such as osteopenia, osteoporosis, a fracture, achondroplasia, cleidrocranial dysostosis, echondromatosis, fibrous dysplasia, Gaucher's Disease, hypophoshatemic rickets, Marfan's syndrome, multiple hereditary exotoses, neurofibromatosis, osteogenesis inperfecta, osteopetrosis, osteopoikilosis, sclerotic lesions, peridontal disease, pseudoarthosis and pyogenic osteolmyelitis.
