There is provided herein a method of treating thermally and/or chemically damaged including the following steps: contacting thermally and/or chemically damaged Ii air with a hair treating composition comprising a aminosilicone of the general formula (I): MDxDyM (I) wherein: M = R1R22SiO1/2 D = R22Si02/2, and D = R2R3SiO2/2, and where R1 is an alkyl group having 12 to 50 carbon atoms, R2 is a substituted or un- substituted hydrocarbon group having 1 to about 6 carbon atoms, R3 is 3-aminopropyl group and/or a N-(2-aminoethy])-3-aminopropyl group, x has a value of 1 to about 2,000, and y has a value of 1 to about 50.Linvention porte sur un procédé de traitement de cheveux thermiquement et/ou chimiquement endommagés, comprenant les étapes suivantes : la mise en contact des cheveux thermiquement et/ou chimiquement endommagés avec une composition de traitement des cheveux comprenant un aminosilicone représenté par la formule générale (I) : MDxDyM (I) dans laquelle : M = R1R22SiO1/2 D = R22SiO2/2 et D = R2R3SiO2/2 et où R1 représente un groupe alkyle ayant 12 à 50 atomes de carbone, R2 représente un groupe hydrocarboné substitué ou non substitué ayant 1 à environ 6 atomes de carbone, R3 représente un groupe 3-aminopropyle et/ou un groupe N-(2-aminoéthyl)-3-aminopropyle, x a une valeur de 1 à environ 2000 et y a une valeur de 1 à environ 50.
