A drug delivery system includes a reservoir and a drug delivery device associated with the reservoir. The drug delivery device may further include at least one temperature sensing component and a safety device having a locked state and an unlocked state. The system further includes an output device, a controller combined with the safety device, and an output device. The control unit may include a temperature sensor, or may be combined with the temperature sensor. The control unit determines whether the temperature of the medicine or temperature sensing component arranged in the reservoir is higher than the upper limit, lower than the lower limit, or between the upper limit and the lower limit.
