PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a hard spot which can be generated when a laminate related to an absorbent article is compressed.SOLUTION: An apparatus manufactures an absorber by compressing a laminate formed by laminating a liquid absorbent material in a thickness direction of the laminate. The apparatus includes a pair of rotating members which rotates to send out the laminate, which is sent in along a conveyance direction, in the conveyance direction while tightly compressing the laminate by mutual peripheral surfaces and a plurality of linear protruding parts which protrude on the peripheral surface of at least one of the pair of the rotating members. The adjacent protruding parts in a CD direction along a rotating shaft of the rotating member out of the plurality of the linear protruding parts section into a region sandwiched with respect to the CD direction on the peripheral surface. The sectioned region has a taper shaped region part where a dimension in the CD direction is reduced toward an upstream side of the rotating direction of the rotating member.
