A weed control system includes a fence that extends upwardly from ground. A modular edging unit is provided and the modular edging unit is placed on the ground. The modular edging unit is positioned around each of the posts and beneath each of the segments. In this way the modular edging unit inhibits plant growth adjacent to the fence thereby enhancing an appearance of the fence.
