PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus where image generation processing can be accelerated and power consumption can be reduced.SOLUTION: A/D conversion of reception signals are executed, by restricting an A/D conversion execution range where A/D conversion is actually executed within the A/D conversion executable range of the reception signals by a reception signal processing part according to amplitudes of the reception signals that is output from the transducer array. The A/D conversion execution range, which has a predetermined bit width regardless of measurement depths, is determined by an A/D start bit and A/D completion bit.
