PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide composite particles comprising at least one core particle coated with at least one solid UV filter, the composite particles not losing UV protection ability which is improved in the presence of a particular anionic surfactant, and to provide cosmetic compositions comprising the composite particles, the compositions not losing the improved UV protectivity even when washed with water.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to composite particles comprising at least one (a) core particle, at least one portion of the core particle (a) being covered with at least one first coating layer comprising at least one solid UV filter (b), at least a portion of the first coating layer (c) being covered with at least one second coating layer comprising at least one hydrophobic block copolymer and to a cosmetic composition comprising the composite particles.
