The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition for inhibiting causative bacteria of Chinese cabbage bacterial soft rot disease, the composition comprising an extract of Suaeda japonica as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to an antibacterial composition for inhibiting Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. Carotovorum (PCC), causative bacteria of Chinese cabbage bacterial soft rot disease, the composition which comprises a hexane fraction, a chloroform fraction, an ethyl acetate fraction and a butanol fraction obtained from an ethanol extract of Suaeda japonica, an agricultural crop protection agent comprising the composition, a food cleaning agent comprising the composition, a food additive comprising the composition, and a control method of the causative bacteria of Chinese cabbage bacterial soft rot disease using the composition. Further, the present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting or annihilating proliferation of PCC, the composition which comprises the extract of Suaeda japonica as the active ingredient. The antibacterial composition comprising the extract of Suaeda japonica as the active ingredient according to the present invention can be usefully used as a material for controlling a bacterial soft rot disease of crop since the composition includes a natural medicinal halophyte as a raw material and exhibits a growth inhibition effect on PCC that is the causative bacteria of Chinese cabbage bacterial soft rot disease, i.e., an antibacterial activity and a sterilization effect on PCC.
