A novel fast dissolving pharmaceutical composition in solid dosage form with a prolonged sweet taste is provided which comprises at least one pharmaceutical active agent in an amount of from 0.1 to 99 weight % of the total dosage form at least one water soluble sugar in an amount of from 5 to 95 weight % of the total dosage form at least one non-sugar sweetener in a fast release form in an amount of from greater than 0 to 10 weight % of the total dosage form and at least one non-sugar sweetener in a mucoadhesive slow release form in an amount of from 0.5 to 20 weight % of the total dosage form. Also provided is the process of manufacture of such novel compositions.
