A pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of macular degeneration, comprising a compound of Formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active substance: <；Formula 1>； where R is H, CN, NO or NH, R is R, R and R are independent of each other and correspond to H, Cl, Branched, Br, F, C C straight or branched chain alkyl radical, OR, CF, OCF, NO or COR, R corresponds to a C C straight or branched chain alkyl radical, R corresponds to H or C C alkyl radical, and * corresponds to a chiral center. 2.
