Humoral and cellular immune responses against tumor cells and infectiousagents are induced in a mammal using a vaccine comprising immunoconjugatesthat comprise antibodies and anti-idiotype antibodies that mimic an epitope ofan antigen that is associated with a tumor or an infectious agent. Theseimmunoconjugates also comprise a peptide that contains an epitope of a tumorassociated antigen or infectious agent antigen, a peptide that contains aminimal recognition unit of an anti-idiotype antibody, or a peptide thatinduces a strong major histocompatibility complex-restricted immune response.Antibodies and cytokines also may be used to amplify the immune cascade.
