597575 Disclosed is an apparatus for use in therapeutic and/or cosmetic treatment using light or phototherapy or conjunction with a medicament in photodynamic therapy to allow more effective treatment through improved contact with a patient's skin. The apparatus comprises a casing with electronics located within or attached to the casing and at least one light source. A chassis is located within the casing wherein along at least part of or substantially the whole length of the chassis there are channels on at least one or both sides of the chassis which supports a flexible electronic substrate. A protruding member in the chassis of the casing functions as a runner for the flexible electronic substrate. The casing includes a series of hinges which allow the apparatus to bend so as to adapt to and/or conform to a non-planar surface. The channels support the flexible electronic substrate and allowing the flexible electronic substrate to be free or substantially free to move along the channels. The chassis consists of an upper chassis and a lower chassis and the channels allow the upper chassis and the lower chassis to bend in tandem or substantially in tandem with the flexible electronic substrate being free or substantially free to move along the channels during bending and/or flexing.
