A balloon controller (100) for an endoscopic apparatus (10) capable of reliably preventing the occurrence of an abnormal pressure in a balloon (60, 80) to improve safety. The balloon controller (100) controls expansion/shrinkage of each of a first balloon (60) attached to an insertion portion (12) of an endoscope and a second balloon (80) attached to an insertion assist implement (70) by supplying air to the balloon or drawing air from the balloon. Pumps (PA1, PB1) for pressurization are provided in a main unit (102) of the balloon controller (100). Part of air supplied from the pumps (PA1, PB1) is leaked through fixed throttles (DA1, DB1).
